1. I went to my first Aggie Basketball game with Julie. SO fun. And we won which made it even better!
2. Watched Northanger Abbey and had dinner with Skye and Jessica Smith... I always love when I find girls that like the same movies as me. Especially girly movies like that :)
3. I went to Rexburg to visit Katrina, Casey, and Carson. While I was there I was lucky enough to visit with old friends and roommates that I have missed SO much. I wish I had thought of getting pictures with each of them...oh well...maybe next time.
4. Last week my roommate Shelby invited me over to her parents house to work out. Her parents gym is like the dream gym I want in my home one day. It definitely motivated me to finally go to planet fitness to get my own membership because I have missed being able to work out and I would love to be able to go whenever I want. Once I got my membership I have gone to the gym every morning before work or institute and I LOVE IT! I have so much energy and my days are just...happier. :)
5. Stake Conference was this past weekend. It's funny how when I was a kid I envied all the families who stayed home for stake conference and general conference. I thought those were the "boring" meetings because there was no primary and I couldn't understand why my parents were so insistent on going. NOW I know! They are by far the BEST meetings! Even the adult session on Saturday night is fantastic. I end up learning so much and the spirit is just so strong! On Saturday night we were lucky enough to have the Latter Day Voices choir sing for us. My favorite song they sand was " O Divine Redeemer". It sounded like something from Les Miserable. It was a beautiful song about redemption and the beauty of repentance. Something I'm sure we can ALL relate to. :)
On Sunday, following stake conference was the CES Fireside by Elder Bednar. What impressed me most was the story of the man who had cancer. When he asked for a blessing, Elder Bednar asked him this question "Do you have faith not to be healed?". I think that's one of those things that we would rather not have to ask ourselves, but if it came down to it, I hope that I would have that kind of faith to know that the Lord knows ALL things and His way is the best. Anyway, it was a great talk! ;)
Lets see.... other things that have happened...
6. Jessica Kleven came over to my house last week and we made a delicious dinner.
7. On Monday I was tired after work and not all that excited to go to FHE. I debated not going ( which I do pretty much every week. I'm not sure why because I ALWAYS have so much fun) but ended up going and I am so glad I did. We had a talent show night. I hadn't prepared anything so I didn't share a talent. Something I regret...but anyway, it was so fun watching all the others perform their talents. There were talents from singing, to free throw shots, to cowboy poetry and more. It was great!
8. I had my first "Rumbi" experience with Kim and Julie
9. On Tuesday night, Kim, Shelby, Jessica K and I went to our ward's basketball game. Our boys won and made it to the championships. So then on Wednesday the relief society had an activity where we watched our boys play in the championships. Our ward won and we all celebrated by eating ice cream and cookies at the church building afterwards. I have to admit I gained a lot of respect for the guys in my ward. They didn't lose their tempers at all during the game and played like Bosses! We have some serious talent in my ward that's for sure...
I
When I was going to school at BYU-I, I had made a goal for myself to attend the temple every week, and to go to the gym Monday through Friday. I was pretty diligent and I am confident that that is why I did so well in school. All aspects of my life were balanced. Just recently I have decided to implement these goals into my life again and I have definitely noticed a change. I've been doing better on tests because I can focus more and I feel stronger and at peace. And just happier.
So the biggest news of all is that my family has recently been reunited with Robbie. My long lost brother.
It's kind of personal and I don't really know how I feel about posting all the details on my blog...but if you want to know more... go ahead and ask me :) All I can say is my family...my life... went from somewhat normal...to not so normal...and that's okay. Because I guess there really isn't such thing as "normal" is there? I'm looking forward to what the future brings...
And that's what I have been up to these past couple of weeks :) Thanks for reading! :)
Oh I just have to add...I am SO happy about the weather today...and its supposed to get warmer this week. Spring is coming!!!!
